Sleep Problems

It can be very distressing to lie awake for hours in the night, worrying about not being able to get back to sleesleep.jpgp.

Additionally, the lack of sleep the night before can make it difficult to function or enjoy life the following day.
Worrying about not sleeping adds to your stress levels and only makes matters worse.

Of course there may be things happening in your life that are worrying you. And you may lose some sleep until you've figured out what to do about that.
However, if you can't easily relate your sleep problems to something, then you may need some support to help you break the cycle.

The following self-help leaflet gives some different ways of thinking about sleep problems and it may be helpful to you.
At least, it might be a good place to start.

These leaflets are available to download or copy in their entirety.
They were written by staff from Newcastle, North Tyneside & Northumberland NHS Tust The authors should be fully acknowledged in any reproduction and changes must not be made without their permission.
